1 Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Nekolingo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Nekolingo's website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not use the Service.
The Service is not available to persons under the age of 13. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
You can
- Use Nekolingo for personal language learning
- Track and export your own learning data
- Access your account from multiple devices
- Cancel your subscription at any time
You can't
- Share your account credentials with others
- Reverse-engineer or scrape our content or models
- Resell or commercially redistribute the Service
- Upload harmful, illegal, or abusive content
In short
These Terms are a legally binding agreement between you and Nekolingo. Using the Service means you've read, understood, and agreed to them.
2 Service Description
Nekolingo is an AI-powered language-learning platform built on frequency-ranked vocabulary and spaced repetition. The Service includes:
- Frequency-ranked flashcards drawn from real-world usage, with context for each entry
- Personalised study schedules and progress tracking
- Adaptive algorithms that respond to your pace and knowledge gaps
- Multiple languages and study modes
We continuously improve the Service and may add, change, or remove features. We'll let you know about significant changes that materially affect your use of the Service.
3 Registration & Accounts
To access certain features you must create an account, providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account, and you agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
You may not use another person's account without permission, or create multiple accounts to abuse the Service or circumvent payment.
4 Subscriptions & Payments
Some features are offered for a fee. If you choose a paid plan, you agree to the pricing and payment terms in effect at the time, which we may update from time to time. Payments are handled by third-party processors, subject to their terms and privacy policies in addition to these Terms.
All fees are exclusive of taxes, levies, or duties, which are your responsibility.
Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law or stated in our refund policy. You can cancel anytime and keep paid features until the end of your billing period.
5 Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and respectfully. You will not attempt to disrupt or compromise the Service's security or infrastructure, access it through automated means except as permitted, or use it to infringe the rights of others.
6 Intellectual Property
The Service — including its software, content, decks, branding, and underlying models — is owned by Nekolingo and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial learning. You retain ownership of content you create.
7 Video Content & YouTube
Nekolingo is not YouTube and is not a replacement for it. Videos play in YouTube's own embedded player: we do not download, host, re-encode, or re-serve video or audio, and all playback, view counts, and advertising revenue belong to the original creator and to YouTube.
Your use of video content is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Transcripts come from the caption track your own browser receives while you watch, captured by the Nekolingo browser extension and sent to us only when you choose to save a video. We do not scrape captions from YouTube's servers. Transcripts, translations, and word explanations are generated aids and are not guaranteed to be complete or accurate.
Saved videos and their transcripts form a shared library visible to other learners; the words you save from them stay private to your account. If a video is removed, made private, region-blocked, or has embedding disabled, we may no longer be able to play it or support the reading features attached to it.
By adding a video, you confirm your use does not violate applicable law, platform rules, or third-party rights. We may remove or disable access to any video or transcript at our discretion, and will act on valid rights-holder requests.
8 Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to others or to Nekolingo. On termination, your right to use the Service ends, though provisions that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.
9 Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee specific learning outcomes. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nekolingo is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
